Art Enrichment Classes and Camps

$40/session, Each session is 2 hours & 4 sessions/month (may vary based on holiday closures)

Wednesday & Thursday 1pm - 3pm (early drop off is available to accommodate varying minimum day bell schedules at a fee)

 We offer an art enrichment program that introduces children to the fundamental elements and creative process of art. Through hands-on exploration, children are encouraged to bring their ideas to life using a wide variety of materials and inventive combinations. Our class series empowers them to experiment with color mixing, texture creation, and building dimension—nurturing both imagination and problem-solving skills as they develop their artistic voice. 

$80/session, 4 hour session

 1pm-5pm Wednesdays & Thursdays

Sessions available August 11th-22nd (minimum days at Jefferson Elementary, Garfield & McKinley)

Our afterschool camp is offered on elementary school minimum days and is designed to provide a creative, restorative, and engaging experience. The program includes a rotating series of art classes, yoga, and music, encouraging children to move, create, and explore in a relaxed, child-centered environment.

Unlike the structured, indoor setting of a typical school day—where children spend over 30 hours a week sitting still and focused on academic instruction—our camp invites them into a fluid and open space where they can decompress, play, and express themselves freely. We spend as much time as possible outdoors in our spacious garden, surrounded by our mini-farm of animals, including bunnies, quail, cats, and our beloved therapy dog, Osito.

Children are encouraged to bring their own ideas into the session—whether it’s sharing a favorite song, proposing a new art project, or leading a group game. Their voices are heard, their stories matter, and their creativity is celebrated. This small group setting, with plenty of room to explore, fosters meaningful relationships, builds confidence, and supports each child's unique sense of self.

Our art classes and camps are thoughtfully designed so that children work on projects that build over a series of sessions. This allows them to develop their skills, explore materials more deeply, and take home a complete, finished piece by the end.

We understand that some families may prefer to enroll as a drop-in. We’re happy to accommodate drop-ins based on availability, but please note that projects may not be completed in a single session. Your child is still welcome to take home whatever they create that day.

For drop-in enrollments, a $10 materials fee will be added to the session cost to help cover supplies—many of which are typically spread out over multiple classes.  If you are enrolling in our monthly segments or concurrent classes or camps (4 sessions minimum), no additional fee will be charged. There is a one time registration fee of $50 which is waived if you are a previous Urban Preschool graduate.
